Meet Dr Erica

Hi, I’m Dr. Erica Reid — a trauma-informed occupational therapist with over 25 years of experience in both clinical and holistic care. I specialize in working with the fascial system, the intricate web of connective tissue that reaches every cell in the body. When this tissue is restricted — whether from injury, surgery, trauma, or emotional holding — it can lead to pain and dysfunction not just where you feel symptoms, but often in completely different areas. My approach is designed to uncover and treat the root cause, not just the surface-level symptoms.

This is the heart of my work — a process I call Root • Realign • Restore.

  • We begin by identifying what's beneath the pain — the patterns, restrictions, beliefs, or stories held in the body.

  • Then we realign through manual therapy, movement, and nervous system support to create freedom and flow.

  • Finally, we build the tools and awareness that help you restore long-term function, regulation, and resilience.

My work blends John Barnes Myofascial Release®, Pain Reprocessing Therapy, craniosacral, visceral techniques, and other hands-on approaches — all grounded in neuroscience, somatic awareness, and lived experience. I also integrate movement education and body mechanics into every session so you leave with tools to support your healing beyond the table.

I don’t offer cookie-cutter care. Every session is tailored to you — your body, your story, and your goals. I work with clients across the lifespan, from infants to older adults, and offer one-on-one sessions as well as multi-day immersionsfor those seeking deeper, more intensive work.

What truly shapes my approach is this: I’ve done the work myself.
My own healing journey — physically, emotionally, and spiritually — has given me the capacity to sit with others in theirs. I know what it feels like to be disconnected from your body, to carry pain that no one could explain, and to believe that healing might not be possible. And I also know the power of returning to your body with curiosity, compassion, and a skilled guide.

Clients often say I intuitively “just know where to go,” and that they feel truly seen, heard, and supported in our sessions. I believe in working with the body — not on it — and that real healing happens when we create space for safety, connection, and possibility.

I’m also a speaker and podcast guest, passionate about expanding awareness of trauma-informed care, pelvic health, and holistic healing. I regularly collaborate with other professionals and refer out when needed to ensure my clients receive truly comprehensive support.

If you're ready to explore what your healing journey might look like — whether you're dealing with chronic pain, pelvic floor dysfunction, trauma, or a desire to reconnect with your body — I invite you to reach out.

Let’s root, realign, and restore — together.

Warmly,
Dr. Erica Reid, OTD, OTR/L
